Add/edit a story (Advancement)
Important
You must be logged in to add content.
If you're adding content, you must have selected Story from the list of page types in the add new content step.
If you're editing content, you must have opened an existing Story.
The Story page content type is used for Advancement stories of giving and stories of gratitude as well as for school blogs.
This example shows an Advancement story of giving.
Stories are tagged with keywords to help the reader filter and view similar/related content. Your tags are:
- stories of giving
- stories of gratitude
The appropriate tag is applied when you choose the type of story you're creating.
A finished Story page looks like this:
When you are creating a new Story page or editing an existing one, the screen will look like this.
As you use these screens for reference, note the content in the fields below and find that content on the screen shown above to understand where the information you're entering is displayed for a reader.
Note that the meta description field is not visible to a reader. The meta description is used only for search engine optimization.
You can see that we've selected 'Advancement story" here, but if you are working on a school blog post, select that instead.
Note the field called 'pull quote'. This field can be pulled into another page, such as a Topic page, by adding a Feature testimonial component to the topic page.
The publishing date shown above will be displayed with the story. It does not affect the placement of the story in the list.
(screenshot does not extend all the way to the right; not all text is visible in the screenshot)
If you need to add a call to action or a media block or a text block, click on the appropriate button below and add information.
Before we move to the publishing options, let's go back to the upper righthand side of the page to see these options:
Now you are ready to publish. Please refer to our publishing options to determine your next step.
Like some other content page types, story pages can be pulled together into a listing page for easy viewing. Here's what a listing page of Advancement Giving stories looks like. Notice that you can search by name or type of story.
