Microsoft Software Center Console

The IT department can deploy software to any RRU computer through the Microsoft System Center software. Below are instructions to find and access the Software Center console.

Procedure

  • Click the Windows start button or Windows Search icon and type SCC
  • You should see a result called Software Center, select it
  • When Software Center opens you will see some tabs on the left.  Select Applications to see the list of software available to you:
  • To install an application, Single-click on the application and click Install to install
  • After the application is installed you can find the application in your start menu.  Some applications will also install a desktop icon. 

Other things to note:

  • You will not need special permissions to install an application from this list. 
  • If the software is listed, you are allowed to install it.
  • The list is populated automatically.  If you do not see the application you are looking for please contact Computer Services
  • Some applications may install themselves automatically and not require you to go into the Software Center console
  • Sometimes an application can take up to 24 hours for it to appear in the list after ticket approval

Submit a ticket
To submit a ticket, you will be required to log in using your FULL Royal Roads email address (detailed instructions here)
