Add/edit a Story (school blogs)

Important

You must be logged in to the content management system (www.royalroads.ca/user/login) to add content.

If you're adding content, you must have selected Story from the list of page types in the add new content step.

If you're editing content, you must have opened an existing Story.

The Story page content type is used for Advancement stories of giving and stories of gratitude as well as for school blogs.

This example shows a school blog.

You may tag a blog with keywords to help the reader filter and view similar/related content.  Please review the list of available taxonomy tags.

A finished Story page looks like this:

When you are creating a new Story page or editing an existing one, the screen will look like this.

As you use these screens for reference, note the content in the fields below and find that content on the screen shown above to understand where the information you're entering is displayed for a reader.

Note that the meta description field is not visible to a reader.  The meta description is used only for search engine optimization.

Insert an image of your choice and search for, then select the program area.

Because you are creating a school blog, select that option (see screenshot above) and then select your school from the list.

Now, enter up to three topic tags for your blog post.  Choose from this list:

  • Alumni
  • Anti-racism
  • Associate faculty
  • Campus services
  • Cascade Institute
  • Climate and sustainability
  • Convocation
  • COVID-19
  • Education and technology
  • Equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Faculty
  • Global perspective
  • Grants and awards
  • Higher education
  • Indigenous
  • K-12 Education
  • Research
  • Resilience
  • Students
  • Values-based

The date shown in the screenshot above is displayed on the blog and looks like it's the publish date, but this date does not change the order in which blogs appear in a list.
