Phish Alert Button missing in the Outlook
Some users experienced Phish Alert button missing in Outlook. The reason this happens is that Outlook is running slowly and trying to optimize the performance. It then chooses one Add-ins to disable. Therefore, it may happen to other Add-ins too. When it happens, An alert appears in the status bar of the Outlook. You can choose not to disable an Add-ins.
Here is the procedure to get it back to your Outlook.
Click File -> Options, then click Add-ins.
Click the down arrow in the right side of “COM Add-ins” in the bottom of this window and choose Disabled items, click Go… button. The following screenshot will pop up.
If you see Phish Alert related components are listed, such as this screenshot “Addin: KnowBe4ReportPhishing.AddinModule [phishalert.dll]”, click to highlight it, then press Enable button in the bottom left side.
Press Close button in the right side to close this window. This will lead you to come back to the Add-ins of Options window.
Make sure the bottom line is Manage “COM Add-ins” in the window, then press Go… button. If not, click the down arrow to choose Manage COM Add-ins then press Go… button.
The following screenshot pops up. In the left of “Phish Alert”, it is not checked.
Check it then press OK.
Press OK again to close Outlook options window.
You should now see Phish Alert button in the tools bar
We recommend you close Outlook then open it again to check if Phish Alert button is visible.
