Accessing Outlook Web App

New Web URL

The new URL for accessing Outlook Web App is https://outlook.office.com This URL replaces the old webmail address (webmail.royalroads.ca). You will need to update any bookmarks or shortcuts you have created for easy access to your email.

Please note you must have already setup MFA on your account.

How to Access Outlook Web App

  1. Open your Web Browser and navigate to the new URL - https://outlook.office.com

  2. Sign In with your UPN or long form of your Academic account which is in the format of username@royalroads.ca and your regular RRU password.

  3. If multi-factor authentication (MFA) is enabled, you will be prompted to verify your identity through your chosen MFA device

  4. After successfully signing in, you will have access to your mailbox and other Microsoft 365 services integrated with Outlook.

  • Improved User Interface: The new Outlook Web App has a modern and user-friendly interface, making it easier to navigate and use.

  • Integrated Calendar and Contacts: Seamlessly access your calendar and contacts within the same interface.

  • Teams Integration: Schedule and join Teams meetings directly from your calendar.

  • Enhanced Search Functionality: Quickly find emails, contacts, and other information with the improved search bar.

  • Focused Inbox: Prioritize important emails with the Focused Inbox feature, which separates your inbox into "Focused" and "Other" tabs.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Incorrect Password or Username: Ensure you are entering your UPN or long form of your Academic account which is in the format of username@royalroads.ca. Double check your password.

  • Clearing Cache: If you encounter issues loading the new web app, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies.

  • MFA Issues: If you have trouble with multi-factor authentication, contact IT support for assistance.
