Transcribe Voicemail into Text
If you want a way to transcribe a voice mail into text, you can do this for free using Word online.
Save the Voicemail file to your computer
Log into Office.com and open up Word online (You might need to log in the first time. Remember to use your username in UPN format (username@royalroads.ca)
As of August 28, 2024 it was noted that the dictate feature is not available on Safari. Please use Firefox or Chrome.
Open a blank document
Click on the little ν beside Dictate and choose Transcribe
Click Upload Audio File and select the file you saved in the first step
When it is done, the text will appear in the right window
Below the text click on the ν beside Add to document and select Just text and the text will appear in the blank document to the left.
You can now copy the text anywhere you want.
Please note that we recommend you listen to the text voice message yourself to ensure an accurate transcription. (Sometimes it will say Are are you… when it meant RRU)
