How Do I Request a New SharePoint Site

A Manger or higher should please contact Computer Services by email or Online RequesOnline Request Formt Form with the following REQUIRED information:

Site name:
Site owner/admin(s):
Description/purpose of site:
Type of site – choose from:

    1. Collaboration
    2. Communication

Here’s how to tell which kind of site you want.

Type of site

Examples of sites best suited to this type

Collaboration: A place for you and others to collaborate on documents etc.

  • Project team working together to complete deliverables and manage tasks.
  • Holiday party planning committee planning the annual get-together
  • Human Resources team members – everyone who works in HR, who collaborate on documents etc.


This kind of site feels like Teams and can have a Teams front end if desired.


Communication: A place for others to read the information you want to share with them

  • Official corporate news
  • HR team communicating about benefits and compensation info
  • Policies and procedures
