Gradebook Overview
When grading a Moodle assignment activity, it's recommended that you grade in the assignment activity and not the gradebook. Instructions for grading in a Moodle assignment activity may be found here:
Moodle - How To Grade An Assignment
Grading in the gradebook is needed for grade items that do not use an assignment activity (or other graded activity such a quiz) and if you need to override a grade.
Accessing The Gradebook
To access the gradebook, select Grades at the top of the course.
Grader Report
The gradebook opens in the Grader Report view with a list of the students enrolled in the course, the activities & assignments, the students' associated grades, as well as a course total for each student.
Entering Grades
To enter student grades, enable Edit mode at the top right.
To enter a grade, (1) find the column for that assignment, (2) enter the grade, and (3) select Save changes. Use the scrollbar at the very bottom to scroll to columns over on the right.
Edit The Assignment Weights
From the drop-down menu at the top left, select Gradebook setup.
Enter a new weight for the assignment and select Save changes. Max grade is automatically populated from the assignment's settings.
