Primary Navigation Menu

At the top of Moodle you'll see the following navigation options.

Home allows you to browse courses, which most people won't need to use.

Dashboard defaults to displaying a calendar. You can customize what appears on your Dashboard by enabling Edit mode at the top right and then selecting Add a block.

My Courses displays your courses.

My Media is your own media library in Moodle, allowing you to upload video and audio that you share within Moodle. For more info on sharing audio and video files in Moodle refer to Moodle My Media - How to share a video or audio file in Moodle

My Courses

We'll focus on My Courses here since it's where most people will go to see their courses.



Navigate to My Courses by selecting My Courses at the top of Moodle.

My Courses displays your courses, allowing you to filter and sort the results.

You can filter the list of courses to only display courses that are In progress, Future, or Past. If you set it to anything other than All, don't forget!

Courses can also be sorted by either course name or last accessed.

The course list defaults to displaying each course as a card, but you can choose List or Summary if that's your preference.

Course Index Menu

The course index menu is the navigation menu that slides open and closed when you select the hamburger menu in the top left corner:

The course index allows you to allows you to see the structure of the course and navigate throughout it.

Breadcrumbs

The top of each course page will include the breadcrumbs, allowing you to navigate back up the hierarchy of the course.

Three Column Layout

Most courses have a three column layout. The left column is the course index, the middle column displays the course content, and the right column contains optional course blocks that will provide various features to the course.
