This page is mainly for Staff and Faculty Only. Students are eligible for a Microsoft Office 365 subscription however some additional software might be available for students and will be identified as such below. If a software does not specifically say that a student license is available, it is not available to a student.

Associate Faculty and Contractors please contact Computer Services by phone, email or Online Request Form to confirm what software is available.



Do you require specialized software for your work computer?  RRU is undertaking to ensure we’re running licensed and reputable software, considering software budget requirements and properly addressing security and privacy concerns. This list is constantly evolving and changing, but please follow the appropriate Action if the software is listed below, or skip to the Software Requests#Software Request Procedure if your software is not listed.

Note: For now, requests for drivers for hardware already purchased will not require special approval.  Please simply submit a service request to Computer Services.

Software Request Procedure

Please submit a ticket requesting the software by visiting the Computer Services Website, and provide as much information about the software by answering these questions to the best of your ability:

  1. What is the name and version of the software you need? 

  2. What is the purpose of the software (why do you use it)? 

  3. Is it required for your job (or is it personal preference)? 

  4. Who uses this software (you and others in your department? Just you?) 

  5. Please give us any reference material that we can use to research the software, such as URLs for system specifications or downloading? 

  6. Is this licensed or unlicensed software? 

  7. If licensed, who holds the license? (RRU or is this a personal license?) 

  8. What is the asset tag on the computer(s) on which you would like to install this software? 

  9. Does your supervisor support the need for this software? (We will need supporting documentation from your supervisor) 

We recognize that the requested software may have been used for years by you and/or your colleagues and may be a highly reputable software however we are reviewing all software installed on RRU computers to maintain the integrity of the RRU network and files and appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Once these details have been evaluated, we'll be in touch with you regarding next steps.

Looking for software for home? 

We only offer Office 365 as a standard to all students, staff and faculty.  Additional specific licenses are available for home use in specific circumstances and are identified above. You may also be eligible for other software at discounted price because you work for a university.
