Moodle - Quiz time extension / user override

Instructors and Program Associates can create Quiz user overrides (extensions) to give students more time to complete assignments. Moodle allows you to easily override the following quiz settings for a one or more students: open and close times, time limit, and number of attemps. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Moodle quiz activity.

  2. From the main page of the quiz activity, select the More menu at the top right, and select overrides.

  3. Select the User overrides option and click on the Add user override button.

  4. From the drop-down menu next to Override user, locate and select the student whose access to the quiz needs to be overridden.

  5. Enable and set the options to reflect the desired override/s. Only override the options that you need to override. For example, if a student requires more time for the quiz, enable the Time limit override and set it to the appropriate duration.

  6. Click Save.
