Trouble with RRU wifi

There are a few issues that can arise with the RRU and RRU-Guest wifi

If your issues is not addressed on this webpage, or the solution does not work, please come visit us in the Sequoia building on the main floor (in front of the Welcome desk) or by phone at local 2659 (250.391.2659).

We are open most days from 7:30am to 4pm.

I cannot log in

I can not run XX application

The RRU and RRU-Guest wifi have limited access to some applications to reduce network traffic. Please visit the Computer Services desk if you have any questions.

  • Whatsapp only works on the RRU network

  • NVIVO only works on the RRU network

  • VPN is not supported

I can connect to the RRU-Guest network, but I cannot connect to the RRU network

Among the reasons that can cause this:

  • DNS must be automatic. Third party DNS like Google DNS will prevent the connection from working. Wifi connection must be set to 'obtain DNS server address automatically'

  • Work phone with hard coded network settings could prevent you from connecting
