Connecting to WIFI - Android
Some devices may have trouble connecting to Wi-Fi if the date and time is incorrect.
Android 14 :
Settings → Network and Internet → Internet
Under Wi-Fi, select + Add network
Network name or SSID: enter RRU or RRU-Guest
Security: WPA/WPA2-Enterprise
EAP method: PEAP
Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
CA certificate: Use system certificates
Minimum TLS version: TLS v1.0 (default)
Online Certificate Status: Do not verify
Domain : royalroads.ca
Identity : username (Ex. A user with the email Test.3user@royalroads.ca would have the username t3user)
Anonymous identity : (leave blank)
Password : (AD account password)
Android 11, 12, 13 :
Security : 802.1x EAP
EAP method : PEAP
Phase 2 authentication : MSCHAPV2
CA certificate : None or Use system certificates
Online Certificate Status : Do not validate
Domain : royalroads.ca
Identity : username ex. a3morris
Anonymous identity : (leave blank)
Password : (AD account password)
Android 10 (or older) :
EAP method : PEAP
Phase 2 authentication : MSCHAPV2
CA certificate : Use system certificates
Identity : instructional\username ex. instructional\a3morris
Anonymous identity : (leave blank)
Password : (AD account password)
Troubleshooting
Connected but no Internet Access
Go into the Network Connections and click on More settings…
Make sure that DNS is set to “automatic” not “private DNS” as this is not allowed on the RRU network.
