Connecting to WIFI - Android

Some devices may have trouble connecting to Wi-Fi if the date and time is incorrect.

Android 14 :

Settings → Network and Internet → Internet

  1. Under Wi-Fi, select + Add network
  2. Network name or SSID: enter RRU or RRU-Guest
  3. Security: WPA/WPA2-Enterprise
  4. EAP method: PEAP
  5. Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
  6. CA certificate: Use system certificates
  7. Minimum TLS version: TLS v1.0 (default)
  8. Online Certificate Status: Do not verify
  9. Domain : royalroads.ca
  10. Identity : username    (Ex. A user with the email Test.3user@royalroads.ca would have the username t3user)
  11. Anonymous identity : (leave blank)
  12. Password : (AD account password)

Android 11, 12, 13 :

  1. Security : 802.1x EAP
  2. EAP method : PEAP
  3. Phase 2 authentication : MSCHAPV2
  4. CA certificate : None or Use system certificates
  5. Online Certificate Status : Do not validate
  6. Domain : royalroads.ca
  7. Identity : username    ex. a3morris
  8. Anonymous identity : (leave blank)
  9. Password : (AD account password)

Android 10 (or older) :

  1. EAP method : PEAP
  2. Phase 2 authentication : MSCHAPV2
  3. CA certificate : Use system certificates
  4. Identity : instructional\username    ex. instructional\a3morris
  5. Anonymous identity : (leave blank)
  6. Password : (AD account password)
