Chef: Terminate Computer Account

For role:

  • HR (employees)

  • Resource administrators (contractors)

When someone gives notice and/or their contract comes to an end, it may be necessary to terminate their computer account.

This option disables the computer account and activates the usual account termination procedures, which will delete the computer account in 30 days after the new end date.

Enter the resource ID of the person whose computer account will be closed.

You can choose a new end date using the calendar date-picker if you want to indicate the computer account should be disabled on a specific date in the future, or click the ‘Terminate immediately’ checkbox if you want to disable the computer account right now.

Take whichever action is appropriate, then click the ‘Terminate’ button.

If you change the account termination date to today or choose to ‘Terminate immediately’, you may want to complete the departure form.
