Chef: More about the delegate and delegate for contractor roles

Resource Administrators can assign and remove the roles of ‘delegates’ and ‘delegates for contractors’ to employees through ‘My Team’.

As a hiring manager/resource administrator, you can add new resource/personnel records when someone new joins your department and you can edit existing records. You may receive notifications from CHEF for various reasons.

What is a delegate?

A delegate is someone who can help you add and edit records, and deal with notifications. You may want a delegate if your workload is such that you need someone to routinely help manage this information, or if you need vacation coverage, or if you are always out of town, etc.

You and your delegate can only see information about people who report to you.

Who can be your delegate?

Only a person(s) who reports directly to you can be your delegate.

What can your delegate see/do?

Every hiring manager/resource administrator can see records for everyone who reports to them AND everyone below them in a hierarchy. Your delegate can see and do all the same things you can do.

What is a 'delegate for contractors'?

A delegate for contractors is someone who can help you add and edit records, and deal with notifications for contractor records (includes associate faculty records).

You and your delegate for contractors can only see information about contractors in your team.
