Computer Labs

Computer labs are provided for classes and for drop in use when not booked for classes.  To print on an RRU printer, you must be logged in with your Academic Account and have money on your print account.

Standard Software

All computers in the computer labs have the following software installed:

• Fully functioning Windows 10 operating system with standard suite of Windows 10 utilities and software
• Microsoft Office 365
  • Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • OneNote
  • Outlook
  • Publisher
• Microsoft Visio
• Microsoft Project
• Firefox
• Chrome
• Microsoft Edge
• Additional software may be available in the Software Center (SCC)
• Papercut NG (Print account manager)
• If  you need to install a printer, you can do that with these instructions

Available Computer Labs and Hours:

Library Lab

• Labs currently Closed
• (Check the Library website for hours of operation)
• B&W printer is available inside the lab (called LRC Lab)
• Color Copier/Printer available inside the lab t(called LRC Color)
• Along with the standard software, the following specialized software is installed on the computers in this lab:

  • IBM SPSS

  • Minitab

Learning and Innovation Centre (LIC) Labs

• Available Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m
• Spaces must be booked in advance.  Use the Royal Roads online booking function, or if you need assistance you can email Scheduling.
• Not available for drop in
• B&W printer is available inside the lab (called LIC Lab)
• Color Copier/Printer available in the Business Centre just outside the lab towards the atrium (called LIC Business Centre)
• Along with the standard software, the following specialized software is installed on the computers in this lab:

  • GaBi Education Network

  • IBM SPSS

  • Minitab

Millward Residence Labs

• Labs currently Closed
• Every day - 24hours - Millward/Nixon residents only
• Located on each residence floor between Millward and Nixon
  • Millward 4/Nixon 2
  • Millward 5/Nixon 3
  • Millward 6/Nixon 4
• B&W printer is available inside each lab
• Along with the standard software, the following specialized software is installed on the computers in this lab:
  • Minitab

• The laptop connections in the first 5 study carrels in the library
