We have discovered that last week, some automatic updates that should have been prevented via policy were actually applied and were needed to be rolled back, which caused corruption to the drives.
We are currently attempting to run a drive fixing process now which may take 2 more hours. If that is insufficient, we will begin a restoration from the latest backup which may take 2-3 more hours.

Beginning around 2pm (PT) today, Janurary 24th, our remote desktop service has been unavailable for login. Users were presented with a sign-in error stating that “The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in”:
