Unfortunately access to Outlook App or desktop email software is not supported for students at this time.

Please note that installing the application to access your email may update some settings automatically on your mobile device to ensure the proper security settings are enabled.  This can include, but not limited to, ensuring there is a passcode (or biometrics) to unlock the device and that the device locks after 10 minutes or less of inactivity.

Step-by-step guide

  • Open Word and make sure you have logged into Office 365 on the iPad/iPhone with your RRU Office 365 username (username@royalroads,ca, not your email address) and password
  • If you are signed in, Open Outlook.
  • It should add the account automatically

  • Click Add account
  • The screen should now ask you for additional information:
    • Email address - change it to be your full RRU email address (firstname.lastname@royalroads.ca, don't forget the number if you have one)
    • Password - Your Academic Account passphrase (same as Moodle)
    • Description - Optional, I recommend "RRU"
    • Server - Webmail.royalroads.ca
    • Domain - Instructional
    • username - Academic Account username (ie. d2brown)
    • Leave Use Advanced Settings on
    • If everything looks good, click on the Sign-In button
  • If it works, you will be greeted with the opportunity to Add Another Account.  Press Maybe Later
  • Your mailbox will open and your email will start to download

Please allow a couple of minutes for your email and calendar to fully populate.  (the Calendar can take longer)
