Step-by-step

Check for updates and Check online for updates from Microsoft Update function differently, and both need to be run.

:

  1. From the Start Menu, select Settings then Update & Security.

  2. From the Windows Update tab, select Check online for updates from Microsoft Update.

  3. Select Download and Install if you see Optional quality update available.

  2. Wait for the updates to be downloaded and installed, then restart.

  3. Continue selecting Check online for updates from Microsoft Update and restarting until you see the You're up to date message.

  • Select Check online for updates from Microsoft Update.
    1. Wait for the updates to be downloaded and installed, then restart.

  • Continue selecting Check online for updates from Microsoft Update and restarting until there aren't anymore updates.
    1. Confirm you're on the latest version (22H2) by right-clicking the Start Menu and selecting System.
