In the My Team section of this documentation, we explained that you can tell if a person in your team works as an employee or a contractor in other units.

Chef can do that because it checks for possible duplicate entries, giving you an opportunity to identify the ‘new’ person as someone who already has/had a relationship with us.
Identifying possible duplicates
You enter information about the new person and hit ‘Submit’.
Chef looks to see if someone already exists with either:
that personal email address OR
that legal first name + last name
If so, Chef shows you some information to allow you to make a decision.
