Rules and Automatic Replies should be configured from webmail to ensure the rules are always running. We recommend creating rules using from webmail instead of through Outlook.
Rules added to Outlook will only run while you have Outlook open. These rules cannot move or forward emails to another mailbox.
Rules added to webmail can run all the time, whether Outlook is open or not. Also the rules can include forwarding and moving emails and will happen whether you are in Outlook desktop app or not.

Follow this procedure to add a rule to Outlook
Login to webmail.royalroads.ca https://outlook.office.com/mail/
From the top-right, select Options → Create an Inbox Rule
Settings (sprocket), Select Mail on left menu, and then Rules in the middle
Create your rule(s).
Verify none of your new rules display “The This rule you’ve selected can’t currently be edited or viewed in Outlook Web App. Please use Outlook to view it.”.
