Step-by-step

  1. Check Windows version.

  2. From the Windows Update tab, select Check for updates.

  3. Wait for the updates to be downloaded and installed, then restart.
  4. Continue selecting Check for updates and restarting until you see the You're up to date message.
  5. Select Check online for updates from Microsoft Update.
  6. Wait for the updates to be downloaded and installed, then restart.
  7. Continue selecting Check online for updates from Microsoft Update and restarting until there aren't anymore updates.
  8. Confirm you're on the latest version by right-clicking the Start Menu and selecting System.
