• Some webcams will have a switch that slides in front of the camera to block it. Ensure that the webcam switch is open.

• Computers can have software on them with security-oriented features that allow block the webcam. Here are a couple examples:

  • Some Lenovo computers. Refer to Zoom's documentation to solve this issue (it's not related to Zoom, but their documentation solves it).

  • Kaspersky Antivirus has a security setting that can the prevent the camera from recording an image even when the light on the camera is on.  To turn this feature off, go into Kaspersky Security settings and turn off "Webcam Protection"

• Check to see if Kaltura Capture is showing the current Kaltura url. In the Kaltura Capture application, go to Manage → Information , the new url should be https://kaf.moodle.royalroads.ca and not https://154.kaf.it.ubc.ca.
