Employees | What courses are available? Which ones can I take? | Over 9000 5000 courses across a broad range of topic areas. Work with your supervisor to align courses with your PDP so that time and space can be arranged for completing courses at work. For other topics unrelated to work, the RRU Lynda.com site is available to staff and faculty anytime, anywhere you have a connection to the internet. Checkout the Lynda.com app too! |
Staff/facultyEmployees | What if I have an existing Lynda.com Linkedin account? | If you can remember your username/password (you can request this info directly from the Lynda.com site), you can 'connect' your existing account with your RRU Lynda.com account so you can view all of your courses in one account. You will be prompted to supply this information the first time you log in. | Staff/facultyThe first time you log into Linkedin Learning you will be asked if you want to connect your personal Linkedin account with your Learning account. If you want to add this connection, you will be able to access the learning community from either account. |
Employees | Can I log on to lynda.com the online service from home? | Yes. You do not need to be on campus or on RRU's network to access the service. Log into http://lynda.royalroads.ca using your web browser and RRU username/password. |
Staff/faculty | Why doesn't my last name show up in my account profile? | If you have a # in your RRU username or email address, there is a known bug where your lastname is not added to your record. Lynda.com is working on this and should have a fix for it near the end of 2017. |
Staff/faculty | Why doesn't my last name show up when I print a course certificate? | There is a known bug where your lastname is not added to your record. Lynda.com is working on this and should have a fix for it near the end of 2017. Until then, if you need help printing a certificate that shows your last name, contact Jody Blair in HR. |

Students | Can I access the RRU Lynda account? | Although the Lynda.com access is not available to students through Royal Roads , members at this time. Members of the Victoria Public Library that have a free library card can get access to Lynda.com this service through them. Please contact the Victoria Public Library for additional details |
Faculty | Can I use a Lynda.com course in the course I'm teaching? | Not at this time as we do not have licensing to include students. |
Associate Faculty | Can I access my RRU Lynda.com account when I am not under contract? | No. You must have an active RRU user account to access the RRU Lynda.com service. |
