Move the Navigation bar back to the bottom of Outlook

An update to some customer's Outlook moved the navigation bar to the side:

instead of here:

To return it back to the bottom:

  1. Open the Outlook desktop app.
  2. Click File, then Options.
  3. In the window that opens, select Advanced.
  4. Under the Outlook Panes section, uncheck the box that says "Show apps in Outlook."
  5. Restart Outlook and your navigation bar would be relocated at the bottom.
