Issue: Table of Contents indent 10px
In the Mail tab in Raiser's Edge - acknowledgement letters don’t process from word wizard. The user gets the blue spinning circle and nothing happens.
...
The cause of this behaviour is MS Word. While Raiser's Edge is creating the merge document, underneath the RE windows, where you will not see it, MS Word has opened a warning prompt and is waiting for the user to click a button.
The warning prompt:
Microsoft added this prompt to make the mail merge process more secure. For more information, and for a possible workaround, please see Microsoft Knowledgebase 825765. (IMPORTANT: Since the Microsoft workaround is applied to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry hive, then the workaround needs to be implemented for each Windows user that uses the Blackbaud software on the particular computer.)
...
Resolution:
The best solution is to add a new registry key on the user's computer.
...
SQLSecurityCheck=dword:00000000
...
Instructions:
- Start Registry Editor.
- Start -> search on "regedit.exe"
- Locate and then click the following registry folder:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\xx.0\Word\Options
- If a key for SQLSecurityCheck does not exist:
- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Under Name, type: SQLSecurityCheck
- Double-click SQLSecurityCheck.
- In the Value data box, type: 00000000
- Click OK.

When this window is hidden under Raiser's Edge window, the user can access it by:
- Press and hold the ALT key
- While holding ALT, press tab once (this will open a window with running programs).
- Look for a Word program among the open programs shown. It will appear as a Word icon here with a gray box behind it:
- Either tab to or click on this to open the prompt.
- Click "Yes" to complete the merge (keep in mind it may require you to click "Yes" multiple times).
- Your document will open on your screen.
OR
- Open the Task Manager.
- In the list of open programs (look on the Applications tab if tabs are present), look for Microsoft Word with an icon as shown below.
(NOTE: In Windows 10, this specific icon may not appear. Instead multiple instances of Word may appear with the standard Word program icon. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the prompt is brought to the front and then proceed with the remaining steps.) - Click once on the Microsoft Word application line shown in step 2.
- Right-click on the line and select "Bring to Front" or "Switch to."
- The SELECT *FROM 'MAIL DATA' will appear. Click "Yes" to complete the merge (keep in mind it may require you to click "Yes" multiple times).
- Your document will open on your screen.
