"When I print an email, I would like it so that it also prints attachments automatically."
Due to a virus incident, this functionality is not approved and has been disabled completely on some computers.
When printing an attachment, Outlook opens the attachment in its native application. For example, in the email contains an Excel spreadsheet as an attachment: In order for Outlook to print the attachment, it opens the Excel spreadsheet in the Excel application, then prints it. The danger: If the Excel spreadsheet contains macros, these macros run.
Many viruses are spread by using Excel macros. The same risk occurs with other document types including Word, PDF or Script files. Each of these documents contain the possibility of containing a macro that could run and infect a machine or worse.
As a result of this, Royal Roads has instituted a policy that "auto print of attachments" is not allowed or recommended.
