Email Setup for Android Devices

Sync Mail, Contacts, and Calendar, by adding your Royal Roads Exchange account to your Android Device.

Students need to have webmail enabled. Please Contact Computer Services to activate this service.


Before proceeding :

Adding Exchange Account :

By default, most Android devices use the Gmail app for managing Exchange accounts. Microsoft Outlook is also available as a standalone app on the Play Store.

  1. Launch Gmail or Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Expand the menu. 
  3. Expand the current account.
  4. Select Add Account.
  5. Choose Exchange and Office 365.
  6. Enter your email address
  7. Select Manual Setup.
  8. Enter Exchange
  9. Enter password.
  10. Update Incoming server settings :

    Domain\Username : username@royalroads.ca        ex. a3morris@royalroads.ca
    Server : webmail.royalroads.ca



  11. Select OK when prompted for Remote security administration.
  12. Scroll down and select Activate this device admin app.




Shared Mailboxes / Archive Inboxes

Please note that shared mailbox, as well as archive mailboxes, are usually not accessible through the default mail app (Gmail). To access a shared mailbox while off campus, please use Webmail (students/staff/faculty) or Sentinel (staff/faculty only) .
