This article will show you how to upload and share video and audio that you've already recorded. If you want to create video or audio recordings you'll find instructions here.
In Moodle, you can share and embed media anywhere that there is a text editor, including forum posts, pages, books, assignments, etc.
Sharing video and audio in Moodle is a two step process:
- Upload the media to your My Media library in Moodle
- Add the media to a resource or activity where others can see it
If your video or audio is already in your My Media library, skip to step 2.
In Moodle, at the top select My Media OR select the My Media button in the text editor.

OR

Next, select Create and then Upload.

Add your video or audio file either by using drag and drop or by selecting Choose a file to upload.

While your media is uploading, enter a name for it. Everything else is optional.

When you're done entering a name, select Save at the bottom. You don't need to wait for the upload to finish. The media will now be available in your My Media library.

Note: New videos may take some time to process. Processing time depends on the quality and length of the video; higher quality and longer recordings will mean that it will take longer to process. You may embed a video in Moodle before it has finished processing. At first the embedded video will display "Error: No source video was found - Entry in process", but that error message will automatically go away once video processing has completed.
You can share video and audio anywhere in Moodle where there's a text editor. In Moodle, navigate to where you want to share the media, position the cursor where you want the media to appear and select the Embed Kaltura Media button which will open your media library.

From your media library, locate the media you want to share. You can use the search box at the top if needed. Once you locate the media select the Embed button to the right of it. Alternatively, you can select the Embed Settings gear button next to if for more embed options.

After embedding the media you'll see the embed code appear where you chose to embed it.

Save changes or Post to forum if you are in a forum.
The example below shows a forum post. You should now be able to see the media player and play back your media.
