Q&A about adjusting Microsoft licenses

RRU will make adjustments to how Microsoft 365 licenses are assigned to comply with legal requirements.

Employees are entitled to use 365 at home while they are employed.

Students are entitled to use 365 at home while they are attending a credit program.

No other person is entitled to use an RRU 365 license at home.

With Outlook open, click on About Outlook in the upper left corner. The resulting window will say "Belongs to:" and show what account owns the software. In the screenshot below, this license “belongs” to d2brown@royalroads.ca. If your “belongs to” contains “@royalroads.ca”, you ARE using an RRU license and you will be affected by the work we’re doing.
