This article will explain how to import a resource or article from another course that you have access to /copy items from one course shell to another course shell. Both courses need to be on the same Moodle server.

Steps:

  • Navigate to the course that you would like to import to.
  • From the main course page, under the gear in the top right corner, select Import.
  • Select the course you would like to import from and click the Continue button. You May need to search for the course.
  • Untick everything but Include activities and resources, and click the Next button (Note: if you're importing a quiz, keep 'Include question bank' selected).
  • Tick only the units and the resources/activities that you would like to import. It's usually easier to click Select None at the top to deselect everything before making your selection/s. After making your selection/s, click the Next button.
  • Confirm your import selections and click the Perform import button.
  • Click the Continue button when the import has completed.

Imported resources and activities will appear in the same section. For example, if an imported resource was in the third section in the course it was imported from, it will appear in the third section in the course it was imported to. Imported resources and activities will appear at the end of each section.

Move the resource or activity to where you would like it.
