How to Disable the Archive Button

How to Disable the Archive Button

The archive button is located right next to the Delete button.  If you are "archiving" instead of "deleting" like me, then you can disable the Archive button with a Registry key.

Contact Computer Services for assistance

The registry is the brain of a Windows computer. If you are not comfortable doing brain surgery, please contact Computer Services by phone, email or Online Request Form

  • Open the registry
  • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options
  • Add a DWORD entry: DisableOneClickArchive
  • Set the Value to  1
  • Close the Registry
