Spam - Messages classed as spam are delivered to the Junk E-mail folder

In this article:

Microsoft 365 email has filters in place to protect you from spam and malicious email like malware and phishing scams.

For those using Royal Roads Outlook / Webmail

Messages caught by the filters are delivered to the junk e-mail folder for your protection. Mail in this folder has potentially dangerous content such as links and attachments disabled. If this is a false positive, the message can be dragged and dropped to the Inbox. From this point, you'll be able to access the full message.

Forwarding Outside Royal Roads

Mail identified as spam by Microsoft 365 won't be automatically delivered to junk email in the place where you forward email to (e.g. gmail.com / outlook.com etc.). This determination is made by the mail system where you forward the mail to.

Infected Messages will be quarantined

Messages scanned by Microsoft 365 that are found to contain virus(es) will be quarantined. Scanning for malware is more precise than detecting spam and few false positives are expected to be rare.
