Problem
When trying to add an additional Outlook profile, the system does not behave properly and it only creates a new blank profile
This issue does not seem to affect all customers and the fix requires a change to the system registry and should only be performed by someone with experience in this area.
Solution
- Open the Registry file
Locate and then select the following registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\x.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover
Review the following possible DWORD values and change the value to "0"
- ZeroConfigExchange
- PreferLocalXML
- ExcludeHttpRedirect
- ExcludeHttpsAutoDiscoverDomain
- ExcludeHttpsRootDomain
- ExcludeScpLookup
- ExcludeSrvRecord
- ExcludeLastKnownGoodURL(only applies to Outlook 2010 version 14.0.7140.5001 and later versions)
- ExcludeExplicitO365Endpoint (only applies to Outlook 2016 version 16.0.6741.2017 and later versions)
Make note of the values changed in case you need to reverse the change
Repeat step for the following registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\x.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover
Close the Registry file to save the changes
Reboot not required
Follow the procedure again to create the new/additional profile
