How to Change your Name at RRU - Student

Legal name change or your name is misspelled

If your name is spelt incorrectly, or you legal name has changed, you simply need to contact the Office of the Registrar via this online form to start the process for a name change. 

This also includes a change to your preferred name.

Please note that your RRU Academic Account is created based on your preferred name and your last name.  This username cannot be changed unless an official name change is requested.  Justification will be required.  This will change your name on all legal documentation from RRU.

Change how your name is displayed in Email or on Moodle

The computer system automatically generates the email address and display name using "title case" (first letter of each word is capitalized).

If you would like your email address or display name to reflect alternative capitalization (i.e. deBeerMcGruber), then please contact Computer Services by phone, email or Online Request Form.  Please note that this request is only to change the capitalization.  If you want to add dashes (-) then this will require a name change request; see above.
