New PCS Student - Under Graduate or Graduate Student with Active SAM Account
This page is a resource for alumni currently in a credit program (with an active SAM (or Academic) Account created before August 10, 2023)
Because you applied for your credit program at RRU before we implemented the new Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS) system and/or made changes to how we manage accounts, you need to validate your SAM Account to access programs and courses in PCS.
To do that:
Go to the PCS Student Portal → Validate Account.
Enter your current SAM Account username and add @royalroads.ca. (This is called your UPN account, ie. d2brown@royalroads.ca). If you do not remember your SAM account username look for the email you received when you activated your SAM Account or contact Computer Services helpdesk at 250-391-2659 or (866) 808-5429.
Enter your current SAM Account password. This is the one you entered when you activated the account. It will be at least 12-15 characters long.
Confirm you are not a robot, and click Continue.
On the screen following, confirm some information and then you are done.
Now you can log into the PCS Student Portal using your UPN username (username@royalroads.ca format) and register for a course.

To submit a ticket, you will be required to log in using your FULL Royal Roads email address (detailed instructions here)
New! If you do not have a full RRU email address (students not currently in a credit program and/or visitors), you can create a portal account using your personal email address.
