New mobile phone? You'll need to set up Multi-Factor Authentication

Like some other RRU departments, the Helpdesk is closed from December 25th to January 1st (inclusive). There will be no technical support during this time.

While it might seem a little early to think about Christmas, the Helpdesk Christmas Elf is sharing a quick reminder that if Santa, or my cousin the Black Friday Elf, decides to bless you with a new mobile phone, you must setup your Multi-Factor Authentication on the new phone.

Although modern phones make the upgrade process very smooth by transferring apps and data automatically, Microsoft Authenticator is an exception. While the Microsoft Authenticator app itself transfers to the new phone, the secure authentication connection does not. This means your sign-in approval won't work until you set it up on the new phone.

Please follow this procedure to setup MFA starting at step 1.

The IMPORTANT Part - You MUST have your old phone to setup MFA on your new phone. If you are required to return your old phone to upgrade, we recommend you upgrade before or after the holidays, when we are here to help, to avoid any interruption in service.
