Connecting to secure WiFi - Android (RRU Langford, John Horgan Campus)

Some devices may have trouble connecting to Wi-Fi if the date and time is incorrect.

Android 14

Settings → Network and Internet → Internet

1. Under Wi-Fi, select + Add network

2. Network name or SSID: enter Westshore-Campus

3. Security: WPA/WPA2-Enterprise

4. EAP method: TTLS

5. Phase 2 authentication: PAP

6. CA certificate: Use system certificates

7. Minimum TLS version: TLS v1.0 (default)

8. Online Certificate Status: Do not verify

9. Domain : westshorecampus.com

10. Identity : username@royalroads.ca

11. Anonymous identity : (leave blank or anonymous)

12. Password : (AD account password)

Android 11, 12, 13

1. Security : 802.1x EAP

2. EAP method : TTLS

3. Phase 2 authentication : PAP

4. CA certificate : None or Use system certificates

5. Online Certificate Status : Do not validate

6. Domain : westshorecampus.com

7. Identity : username@royalroads.ca

8. Anonymous identity : (leave blank)

9. Password : (AD account password)

Android 10 (or older)

1. EAP method : TTLS

2. Phase 2 authentication : PAP

3. CA certificate : Use system certificates

4. Identity : username@royalroads.ca

5. Anonymous identity : (leave blank)

6. Password : (AD account password)

Troubleshooting

Connected but no Internet Access

Go into the Network Connections and click on More settings…

Make sure that DNS is set to “automatic” not “private DNS” as this is not allowed on the RRU network.
