Notepad ++ Removal from RRU devices

Due to a recent shift in security compliances, we are required to remove the application Notepad++ from all Royal Roads devices.

We are beginning to evaluate secure alternatives and will provide a recommended replacement soon.

If you had any unsaved files open in Notepad++, they may still be recoverable. Please follow the instructions below to attempt recovery:

Hold down the Windows key and type the letter R and in the Run box type

%appdata%\Notepad++\backup

And hit OK

Open

The files in that folder will be able to open if you right-click and select Open with and select Notepad from the list
