What is Moodle?

Moodle is our online learning platform. It contains all of your class work, assignments and forums where you can communicate with your instructor and classmates.

Step-by-step guide

1. Open a web browser and go to moodle.royalroads.ca

2. If you are in a Credit Course or Degree Program, click on "Undergraduate & Graduate Courses" login in on the left, if you are in a Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS) or Certificate Program click on the login on the right.

3. Enter your Academic Account username and password and click login

What if I can't log in?

There are a few different reasons you might have trouble logging in.

Account not activated - When your Academic Account is created you get an email with a link to activate the account. You need to click that link to activate an account and create your password.

  • You might not have activated your account. Search your email for a message "New RRU Student Computer Account." If you don't find it, please email itcustomerservice@royalroads.ca and include your student number.

Wrong Password - You might have activated your account months ago and forgotten the password.

Wrong Username - The Academic Account uses a username, which is automatically created for you. It is usually the first letter of your first name, followed by your last name.

  • If you don't know your username you can search your email for a message "RRU Student Username Activation." This email will tell you your username. If you can't find it please email itcustomerservice@royalroads.ca and include your student number.
