I have been accepted - What happens next?

(This information is for RRU Credit students)

You can see details on the Application process here.

All correspondence will be directed to the personal email address you used to create and sign into your application, also known as the MyAdmin account

After acceptance there are a few more steps, however once your state has been changed to "registered" in our student system, this will trigger the account creation process.

  • At around 10pm (Monday to Friday) on the day you are "registered" an email will be sent to your personal email account with the subject "New RRU Student Computer Account - ACTIVATION REQUIRED - for [your name]".  This account activation is for your new Academic Account.  The Academic Account is the account you will use for most of your studies.  This does not replace the MyAdmin account you created to apply, this is in addition to your MyAdmin account.
  • The activation process will required you to create a Passphrase and accept some legal stuff.
  • Once you activate your account, another email will be sent to you that will include your new username and email address.

Always keep an eye on your Junk/spam folder as sometimes emails can go into that folder.  We recommend adding "royalroads.ca" to your safe sender list.

Please note that when we create your Academic Account we will enabled email forwarding by default and, for security reasons, we will disable your access to remote email services. Since you will have forwarding "on" there will be no email in your RRU webmail account because all email sent to your RRU email account is forwarded directly to your personal account.  So there will be no need to log into your RRU email account.  If you would like to stop using forwarding and use another method to access your RRU email, or simply use Webmail to send emails, then contact Computer Services to enable your webmail access.

One you have activated your account, we recommend that you log into Moodle and go through the "THE LAUNCHPAD: ORIENTATION TO RRU" course.

You will start to receive emails from your program associate with dates and information on when your course starts.

Your first course may not appear in Moodle until the day it is scheduled to start, sometime after 9am (Pacific time zone).
