2019 Cyber Security Awareness Month

October is  Cyber Security Awareness Month!

Cyber Security is still a challenge.  The cyber criminals continue to seek out ways to exploit our systems and trick us into doing things we shouldn't.

Even with all of the technological changes we've implemented - and will implement over this next year - YOU are still our best defense against cyber crime.

Again this year several Canadian higher education institutions have found themselves to be victims of some form of cyber crime. .  Closer to home, Royal Roads University has been the target of numerous sophisticated Phishing attacks. Fortunately, these attacks were not successful.   They do, however, highlight how vulnerable we could be.

We know that you have a lot of questions about cyber security, especially about what you can do at home to protect yourself and your family.  That is why we are excited to announce a series of activities next month during  Cyber Security Awareness Month.  During October we will be providing a variety of resources and events, delivered via this site, email and Crossroads posts, to help you better understand cyber security and the simple steps you can take to protect yourself, your family, and our organization.  Our goal is to enable you to make the most of today’s technology.

Join us all month for learning and activities that will help to keep you and your families safe online.
