Your e-mail account is created at the same time as your Academic Account and is typically this format: preferredname.Lastname@royalroads.ca. There are exceptions, for instance, if you have a number in your username, then your email address will be preferredname.#lastname@royalroads.ca
This is the e-mail address that students, faculty, associate faculty and staff at Royal Roads will use to correspond with you.

There are a few ways you can receive your RRU email
Forwarding (default is "on") - All RRU email is sent to your personal email account associated with your account.

Mobile - You turn off forwarding and you can access your email on your mobile device directly from our server
You cannot use 3rd Party applications and services like Outlook and Gmail to access your email

What is my passphrase for Webmail?
The passphrase is your Academic Account passphrase and used for everything included Moodle, Library and PCS websites. You cannot change your passphrase on the webmail site.
Does your browser remember your passphrase on one of our sites? Then get your browser to tell you the passphrase by doing a Google search for “[browser name] saved passwords”.
If you really need to reset your passphrase, you can do it here - https://services.royalroads.ca/accountadmin/ResetPassword.aspx
